How to stake ADA with Eternl

Select your Cardano account in Eternl, open Staking and check your chosen pool before you delegate.

  1. Choose your account

Open official Eternl. Select the account with your ADA and wait for it to finish syncing.

    Start with the intended account

Use the official Eternl website to reach its web wallet, extension or mobile downloads. This walkthrough uses the official wiki’s account and staking instructions, with a read-only check of the public web entry on 7 October 2026. That entry displayed v2.2.0.13; this does not establish the version installed on your device.

The public App setup screen showed Cardano mainnet, but you must check your own wallet’s network. No wallet was created or imported during our check, so the steps after setup below are documented instructions rather than an executed walkthrough.

Eternl can hold several accounts. Select the account with the ADA you intend to delegate and wait for it to synchronize. Delegating records that account’s staking choice; it does not give the operator your spending keys.

  2. Find the pool and review

Open Staking, match the full pool ID and choose Delegate.

    • Check the account and pool ID again.
    • Read the fee and any registration deposit.
    • Approve only if the details match your choice.

Find the pool and review the delegation

Have the full pool ID from your research ready. The official wiki names the Staking section and Delegate control; follow current Eternl help if your platform uses different labels.

    1. Check the selected account, Cardano mainnet and available ADA. An empty or still-synchronizing account is not ready for a transaction review.
    2. Open Staking and locate the pool you chose. Inspect its details, full pool ID, status and fees; do not rely on the ticker alone.
    3. Choose Delegate for that pool, then read the transaction preview. Verify the account and pool ID again, plus the network fee and any stake registration deposit. If the costs or action are unclear, stop before approving.
    4. If the preview matches your intention, approve through Eternl with its normal spending-password or supported hardware-device flow. A delegation does not require providing recovery words to ADAStaking, an operator or a support agent.
  3. Check that it worked

Check the transaction status, then the account’s delegation. Keep the transaction reference.

    Check confirmation before checking rewards

After submission, inspect the transaction status. Once it is confirmed and the wallet has synchronized, the wiki directs you to Account or Staking to verify delegation. Save the transaction reference and date for your own records.

If you already have a delegation, changing its pool follows the network’s epoch timing. An old pool can still be relevant to the currently active stake or an upcoming reward. Inspect the confirmed transaction and the wallet’s delegation information before submitting another change.

  4. Give rewards time

First rewards usually take 15–20 days, if the pool earns them. Do not keep submitting while a transaction is pending.

    • Withdrawing rewards needs a voting choice and a network fee.
    • Do not deregister your stake account to fix missing rewards. Use official help.

Check the right thing when rewards are missing

First rewards usually take about 15–20 days, if the pool earns rewards. Check confirmation and elapsed epochs before treating a zero balance as a wallet error. The network calculates and pays rewards in different epochs.

The wiki places Withdraw Rewards in the staking dashboard. You do not need to withdraw immediately after delegating. If rewards are present but withdrawal is unavailable, check the network fee and your stake key’s voting delegation: a DRep, abstain or no-confidence choice is required for withdrawal.

Do not deregister the stake account simply to troubleshoot a missing payout. Eternl’s documentation treats deregistration as a separate transaction and warns about losing pending rewards. Consult its official staking troubleshooting page when the wallet and your transaction record disagree.

Do not share recovery words or passwords in a support request. Describe the stage that failed and redact private information from screenshots.

Sources and review notes

Official documentation and Eternl’s public web entry checked on 7 October 2026. Only the welcome and App setup screens were observed at v2.2.0.13; wallet setup, funded-account screens, hardware signing and delegation confirmation were not tested. No recovery phrase, account or funds were used.
